The review is short and to the point: jd L. wrote that Justin did a great job on a Control4 project in Franklin. Control4 ties a house’s lights, audio, TVs, locks and cameras to one remote, one app and a few keypads, and it comes up in more than one of Avant’s reviews.
From Hendersonville, the drive is about 39 miles and runs close to 50 minutes when traffic is light: Vietnam Veterans Boulevard to I-65, through Nashville, and south to the Murfreesboro Road exit. Franklin had 90,226 residents in the Census Bureau’s July 2025 estimate, up from 83,556 in 2020.
Power and internet
Middle Tennessee Electric serves Franklin, and United Communications, its internet company, covers Williamson County. Google Fiber and AT&T Fiber both list Franklin as well, and Xfinity serves it on cable.
Permits and the historic district
Franklin’s Building and Neighborhood Services office requires a separate low-voltage permit for alarm and security systems, and its procedures say a Tennessee alarm contractor license is needed to get one. Inside the historic district, the design guidelines ask that dishes, panels and similar equipment be kept out of view of the front facade and the street wherever possible, and placed on roofs only where they are not readily visible. That is worth knowing before anything is mounted on the outside of an older house downtown.
