Justin Slaughter started Avant, LLC in May 2024, after more than 20 years working in audio, video, networking and lighting. He leads the jobs himself, and the Google reviews read that way: most of the 47 name him, for a Control4 system tightened up and expanded, two TVs mounted 10 feet high after other installers turned the job down, a church’s audio equipment moved between rooms without a trace left behind.
His wife, Rebecca, works jobs alongside him. Customers thank her by name too — “Justin and his wife, Bekah are simply the BEST!” is how one review opens.
How he thinks about the work
Justin’s view, in his own words, is that technology should enhance people’s lives, not complicate them. In practice that means the equipment disappears: cable inside the wall, TVs mounted with nothing hanging below them, and fewer remotes on the coffee table — one customer’s were consolidated in about 10 minutes. The aim is a house where the technology works in the background while life happens in the foreground.
It also means the order of a job does not change. “We consult first, design thoughtfully, and deliver solutions that are built to last.” The consultation comes before any recommendation, the design comes before any cable is pulled, and the walk-through comes before the crew leaves. Reviewers notice the parts in between as well — floors covered with blankets, rooms left cleaner than they were found, pricing they call fair, and no push to buy more than the job needs.

A lot of Avant’s work happens past the back door. One reviewer’s house has the AV, a home theater, lighting, pool wiring, networking and cameras on one system. Another customer had two 85-inch TVs installed with outdoor covers. Gate cameras, call boxes and pool houses are why Avant runs and terminates fiber, so the far end of the property sits on the same network as the house.
