Services
Consulting
A needs analysis and a recommendation for what to install — focused on solutions, not on selling products.

Advice before equipment
The old Avant site described consulting as needs analysis and personalized system recommendations, focused on solutions rather than selling products. That is the first step of every job, and it is also a service on its own for a builder, a business or an owner who wants a straight answer before spending money.
At Avant, our goal is not the quick sale. Our goal is to be the team you can depend on—today, tomorrow, and for years to come.

What a consultation covers
- What you want each room or space to do
- What is already installed, and what is worth keeping
- Which systems belong together on one plan
- A recommendation, then a drawn design
What customers say about it
Meredith M. wrote that Justin never tries to upsell. Anne Brannan’s review compares Avant with other companies in Middle Tennessee, quoted below. Becky V., a local realtor, refers her clients. Of the 47 Google reviews, every one is 5 stars, and the recurring themes are honesty and fair pricing rather than any one product.
Justin has more than 20 years in audio, video, networking and lighting. A consultation is where that experience is most useful: knowing when a Control4 system can be expanded instead of replaced, which is what Tim H. found, or when the answer is simply a better-placed access point.
Answers
Consulting: questions
What happens at a consultation?
Justin asks what you want each room to do, looks at what is already installed, and recommends a system and a design to match it.
Will you try to sell me more than I need?
No. One Google reviewer wrote that Justin never tries to upsell, and the old Avant site says the goal is not the quick sale.
Will you recommend keeping equipment I already have?
Where it makes sense, yes. Avant has built on systems customers already owned — tightening up an existing Control4 install and expanding it instead of replacing it.
Can you help a builder plan the low-voltage scope?
Yes. Builders are one of the three groups the old Avant site names, with homeowners and businesses, and the consultation leads into a drawn low-voltage design.
Do you consult on commercial systems?
Yes. Businesses are Avant customers too, and lighting control is designed for commercial spaces as well as homes.
